Last week - after a quiet summer - I finally got to perform again! I was really looking forward to that. And even though it was a beautiful summer day, there was quite some audience!
I started my set with Destruction. My very first self-written song that saw the light of day eight years ago. I haven't sung it live often, but it felt incredibly good to perform this song for this audience.
Destruction is about the beauty of nature around us, and its destruction by us humans. Destruction is a call to everyone to treat our earth better. And even though the text is eight years old, it is more present than ever.
My second song was Loneliness Anthem #2, also called A song of Pain. A beautiful song by Marcela Bovio. For me this was a song to experiment with a lighter, non-classical sound. But it is also a song in which I can go all the way in terms of interpretation. For me, the song is about the fight against loneliness.
My last song was the most exciting... It was the first time I sang The Light on stage! It didn't go perfectly, but I really enjoyed performing my most recent single. It was beyond amazing!
The whole performance was really great anyway. I had a lot of peace of mind. Beforehand I looked into the room and thought: "I can give all these people a present, how cool is that". I did a short breathing exercise (learned from my coach Marcel), and I could handle the whole world. I really enjoyed looking the people in the eye and sharing my story. It felt great. I've never felt like this before, but I am totally ready to feel it again.
I also received some good reactions afterwards, and that is the icing on the cake. In short, a great experience that leaves me wanting more!
